In the recent times,\u00a0various electronic and electro-magnetic devices have been proposed and applied. However, so far, they lack sound research, scientific information and verification about their response, operating principles, effectiveness.<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In the last\u00a0decades,\u00a0several\u00a0enterprises\u00a0\u00a0proposed the treatment of rising damp\u00a0\u00a0in buildings\u00a0by means of electronic\u00a0and electro-magnetic\u00a0devices.\u00a0Some of these methods\u00a0are particularly attractive because, despite the absence of the scientific literature, they\u00a0have the advantage of being\u00a0not destructive\u00a0and\u00a0easily\u00a0reversible. In addition, they are\u00a0not\u00a0more\u00a0expensive\u00a0than\u00a0traditional methods\u00a0to contrast rising damp,\u00a0e.g.\u00a0insertion\u00a0waterproof barriers in the masonry, excavation of tunnels\u00a0around\u00a0the building and crawling spaces beneath the ground level floor, removal of damaged plaster and\u00a0re-plastering with\u00a0macro-porous\u00a0mortars. Therefore, the application of these\u00a0new\u00a0methods\u00a0appears to\u00a0be\u00a0very attractive and their use competitive with traditional methods.\u00a0<span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559739&quot;:200,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A general problem observed in the practice is given by the fact that usually the diagnosis of the presence of rising damp as well as the assessment of the effectiveness\u00a0 of the intervention is carried out by\u00a0the\u00a0same\u00a0manufactures\u00a0and\/or sellers of\u00a0such\u00a0devices.\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0moisture\u00a0content\u00a0in the walls\u00a0is measured with\u00a0\u00a0methodologies\u00a0not always respondent to sound procedures, as listed in EN 16682 (2017)\u00a0.
